About Greg Lansky
That's how Lansky encapsulated his style, in an approach that helped revitalize the industry of the post-piracy era. His wildly popular movies (all appearing as a part of the Vixen Media Group umbrella) have pushed a popular "glamcore" variety of porn that has been released under the labels Blacked, Tushy, Vixen, Blacked Raw, and Tushy Raw.
Born in Paris, Lansky developed a fascination with erotic magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse that led him to spearhead a career as a porn director, initially for the Reality Kings brand. He also directed movies for Digital Sin and New Sensations during the early years of his career (2006 to 2014).
By 2014, he was ready to form his own company, which found instant success with the Blacked brand's visually sumptuous variety of interracial porn. Starting that same year, his movies became a near-constant presence in the Adult Empire DVD bestsellers, with movie after movie nabbing the overall top ranking for the week. The introduction of an anal-centric brand (Tushy) and a non-themed Victoria's Secret-esque label (Vixen) only served to add to the sheen. He later spearheaded two brands with a consciously "dirtier" aesthetic (Blacked Raw and Tushy Raw) while giving Kayden Kross creative directorial license with the Deeper imprint.
Lansky has been frequently the subject of mainstream press articles touting his singular vision and dogged determination to bring his brand of art to the world of porn. Rolling Stone, Forbes, and more have come calling to hear Lansky's inside story. Even Kanye West has publicly professed to be a fan of Lansky's porn! These original ventures were not without risk, and even Lansky himself, on his official website, describes the launch of his brand in 2014 as a "moon shot"
He summarized his attitude toward adult entertainment and art in the keynote address during XBIZ 2017. "Art is close to my heart," he noted during the speech. "Adult performers are artists. Art is when you do the best work you can do, when you feel alive." The industry has awarded Lansky with major directorial prizes on several occasions.
In early 2020, Lansky announced he was selling his share in the Vixen Media Group to focus on other pursuits.
