Keri: I was born in Minnesota.... Only a bridge separated Duluth and Superior. The hospital was in Duluth, Minnesota, but I lived in Superior, Wisconsin....

Keri: Yeah...my father worked for Aramco Oil Company and we lived on an American compound, which for instance, women could drive within that American compound--outside of that American compound, women couldn't drive. We were more modernized.... We had things available to us that Muslims and Arabs did not and that was simply because working for Aramco they had to have certain things available to us, otherwise they couldn't get enough Americans over there.

Keri: Think of it, as, oh, wait--are you familiar with California at all?

Keri: That was the very first time I ever danced. 17 years old, I worked there. ...Okay...think of Burbank. ...Maybe population-wise it was much smaller, because Burbank population is huge. Size-wise...that would be equivalent to the American compound I lived on.

Pornstarempire.com: So it's like its own town or village?

Keri: Yeah. It wasn't like guarded fences with barbwire over it.... It was just like a little city.

Pornstarempire.com: So it was just culturally separate?

Keri: Yeah.... The only reason why you would go outside the compound is one, to go to the beach and two, to go downtown...where you would go shopping for gold for instance...for luggage or anything outside of the groceries and gas.... There wasn't a whole lot available to us. ...You couldn't go out and buy things other than electronics. We could buy boom boxes and televisions.... Kids' toys--they were all those cheap, cheesy ones, so you wouldn't be able to buy a cabbage patch kid...that would never happen.

Keri: For the most part, I would say they were English. A lot of them were from Britain, Americans as well, and I had a few Arab friends. I recall two friends of mine that were Arabic. Their parents worked for Aramco, so their parents lived on the American compound. We actually had to take Arabic classes in school.... I was taking Arabic from an Arabic teacher.

Pornstarempire.com: Well, let's get to some porn. How did you start, I read a lot about this on your website, but why don't you clarify it for me?

Keri: Well my husband and I at the time, we were going to these swing gatherings at hotels or whatever you want to call them. One New Year's Eve...I had met Lauren Montgomery at one of those swinger parties called After Midnight.... Me and her had started this friendship and I knew that she was involved in the adult industry, but I never really drilled her and I didn't ask her a bunch of questions. I didn't really have a fascination or really corner her and ask her a bunch of questions. It was just like we had a friendship going and she came over to my house...and so forth and so on, and [we] would have sex with each other in my house.... About 13 months later, she called me up one night and asked me to have a sex scene with her in one of her movies.

Keri: That was Shattered Vows.

Pornstarempire.com: But you had already danced at this point?

Keri: I owned a bachelorette company already at that point.

Pornstarempire.com: How did you end up in LA first of all? Because you were a model?

Keri: I was living in Arizona...and started coming to California every couple of weeks and staying for a couple of weeks and actually doing mainstream. I was doing modeling out here in California, print work and stuff. I had met my husband one night at a bar and the next day he calls me up where I was staying at with a friend and asked me out on a date and the very next day I move in with him, so I stopped going back to Arizona.

Pornstarempire.com: So you were living in LA and trying to get modeling and acting gigs and you started dancing to support that career, was that the deal?

Keri: Nope, not at all. I was totally self-supportive...doing enough work to where I didn't have to do any of that. ...It until I met my husband, a couple months into our relationship-[he] took me to a place called Hollywood at Go-Go in North Hollywood. ...He said do you want to try that and I was like I don't know... ...I said I'll try it and met with the owner and of course I got really, really . I was in this bikini and I'm not showing anything--I was just so nervous because of the fact that I had to dance on this little piece of table, but when I made like one hundred dollars that day and I thought that was a lot of money... I ended up working there on workdays and on weekends.... I was telling Mark I wanted a normal job that I was sick of going to auditions and getting turned down and you know the whole...

Pornstarempire.com: For acting?

Keri: Yeah...I had been in a movie called Man Trouble with Jack Nicholson and gave me that SAG part and I didn't like it. I didn't like that world of the mainstream thing. I wanted a normal job and wanted to depend on a paycheck that came in every week. Mark looks in the Sunday paper one day and says, "TWA is hiring, why don't you go there?" ...I ended getting a job there and ended up working there for five years. [During] working with TWA, I opened my own bachelor party company. ...The whole stripping thing escalated and went from bikinis to one night going to an amateur topless place and getting enough balls to go in topless for a contest on a Monday night or something like that.

Pornstarempire.com: Okay, so you were dancing, there was a little swinging happening, then you made your first movie with Lauren and then, oh, wait, you started Allure [Keri's adult entertainment company].

Keri: I had a kid in between all that too.

Pornstarempire.com: Now were you still getting mainstream gigs once in a while through all this?

Keri: I didn't seek the work. If any work came to me mainstream, it was because it fell into my lap. It's not something I tried for.

Pornstarempire.com: But did jobs still come up during that same time?

Keri: Nothing exciting.

Pornstarempire.com: So now that you're here, what would you say is your favorite part of having sex on-screen?

Keri: ...Initially what kept me interested is the idea that I could fulfill a sexual desire for women. ...In the swinging world, you find that you want to be friends with these people--that I want to go out the movies or something but also as a couple your seeking other couples to be friends with and it's very hard to find two people that click with two people. ...I was very, very picky about the couple, because if the girl was great and the guy was cheesy then the girl and guy weren't going to be welcomed into my life. So when I found out that I was going to be called on any given day and [have them] say, "Keri...can you have sex with so and so next Tuesday?" and I would be like, "Alright," really. It didn't affect my relationship with my husband and didn't see anything wrong with it, really. It was great and then I met my manager, Lucky [Smith] on my second movie, who came to me with representing me well I thought, wow, how great, because I don't know anyone in this business and I can't go to Lauren every time I have a question because she has her own career and I said here you go and I kind of handed him the reigns and let him go with it. That only lasted a year and a half before I smartened up and told myself I had to do this on my own.

Pornstarempire.com: So he is not your manger anymore?

Keri: Correct.

Pornstarempire.com: You seem very into women, when in your life did this become apparent?

Keri: I had fantasized about them, probably when I was 16 or 17, but didn't admit it out loud to my husband...until I was 20. Then I didn't do anything really about it until....

Pornstarempire.com: How old were you when you got married?

Keri: ...May of 1994.

Pornstarempire.com: So how old were you?

Keri: I was 21 or...20. Mark and I have been together since I was 17 and had my son when I was 20. When we got married, it was not a ceremony--it was him taking me down to Norwalk to the Court House filling out paperwork and getting a marriage license.... I didn't tell my parents--I was scared to tell them, for the sake that we didn't have a ceremony and the only reason why did get a paper certificate marriage is because I was working for TWA and he wanted to enjoy the insurance and the flight benefits, so it wasn't like this fiasco wedding with thousands of dollars spent and that is one of the reason why it takes me to think to when it was....

Pornstarempire.com: How did it go when you told your family that you were doing adult films?

Keri: My mother actually knew when I did my very first movie. ...Her exact words to me were, "Keri, this is not something I want to go out on my patio and scream my daughter is dong porn," but since I am happy, she is happy and she supports me very well and has gone to a series of events with me and seen my layouts that I have done and she is actually very, very supportive of me and so is my father.

Keri: Actually, no, they have been divorced for a couple of years and separated since I was 17.

Pornstarempire.com: Were you surprised they took it so well?

Keri: No I have a very, very good relationship with my parents and it doesn't surprise me at all. I am very grateful and it doesn't surprise me.

Pornstarempire.com: ...Were you surprised? Were they were always laid back and open minded?

Keri: Very open-minded. They have this philosophy that if their children are happy, they are happy. My mom was raised in a kind of strange environment, so her outlook on life is very easy going.... She truly, truly wants us to be happy with whatever we make our decisions on. She will support us 100% and even if she doesn't agree with it, she is still there for us....

Pornstarempire.com: Do you have any problems watching yourself of film?

Keri: No. I do sometimes get a little weird watching myself in front of other people. I do watch myself and everything that I am in. ...Everything. I hunt it down and I find copies that I look at everything that I am in.

Pornstarempire.com: Why do you do that and how do you feel when you're doing it?

Keri: The first reason why I do it is because when people are talking to me and emailing me in regard to something I have done, I want to know what they are talking about. Not necessarily what you did on the day of the set is what may be the edited version.... I want to be able to talk to them in an intelligent way to know exactly what they are talking about.... And second, I want to watch it to see...not necessarily what feels really good, looks really good.... You don't really know until you see it for yourself. I don't like taking people's words for it....

Pornstarempire.com: How does it feel to see yourself naked--that sexual or that exposed?

Keri: ...You know it didn't feel weird to me [initially,] it really didn't. ...Because I was a fan of it and I totally loved watching porn before. If anything, I just sit back and say, "Oh my God, I can't believe I am doing a porno." It's like jumping into your TV....

Keri: Yeah, definitely. I get all giggly.

Pornstarempire.com: I just watched your first full sex scene with Mark Davis in Coming Of Age 2. How did you end up crossing that bridge?

Keri: ...Obviously the question has come up, since I had entered the business, but January of 2000, I had gone to Jill Kelly's house to celebrate New Year's Eve on a personal note. And going out to her ranch and seeing everything and what she has, not just materially, but her level of success and where she is in her life. I just looked around and I even told Mark, "I want what she has...." I felt the opportunities wouldn't come my way as quickly or as...if I had ventured in the boy-girl scene. That was in January and I literally said to myself that night and Mark said, "Let's talk to Lucky about it and that was my manager at that time...I said, OK. Well...Lucky...didn't feel I was ready to go into the boy-girl scene and he literally sat on it for four months, not doing anything about it and being frustrating about it. [Meanwhile,] Mark sat on the computer writing a script because he thought he could write my first boy-girl movie. While he was writing I was getting frustrated and I then leave Lucky...and ironically enough, Jill Kelly started the Jill Kelly Productions right about the same time. So Jill Kelly shows interest in doing my first boy-girl and wants to see a script that me and Mark had written together. One thing leads to another and next thing you know she picked up the money and we are shooting it in November.

Keri: Well, I filed for divorce, but [we're] not legally divorced.

Pornstarempire.com: Did your husband write the screenplay for Coming Of Age?

Keri: Yeah and he was the director.

Pornstarempire.com: Why did you initially decide that you were only going to do women? That was because of your marriage, right?

Keri: No, not at all. The reason why is I felt that I fulfilled a sexual desire for women [through porn]. It wasn't for money and it wasn't for a career in porn. I just thought, Wow I could have sex with women, and then it developed into a career. As time went on with my manager and with seeing what the business had to offer. ...I didn't have any knowledge of [porn] and didn't know where it could go.

Keri: The actually scene itself, I was a nervous wreck. I was very, very nervous. Keri: ...I've never been asked that. They are all fun. The day I stop smiling is the day I'll stop doing it, and I have been smiling ever since I started, so they are all really fun.

Pornstarempire.com: ...It seems like you have some pretty positive feelings towards the porn community, do you want to say anything about that, about why you like being a part of this community?

Keri: ...It's the family of people in this industry and as big as it is, it's really small, in the sense of how many people are involved with the different companies and how they interact with each other. ...When you go on set, everyone is so happy and you hug and you have a sense of acceptance of what you do and it's very encouraging and very addictive. ...You love the people you're around and the openness you have and the freedom to express yourself is overwhelming. Once you get grounded, you don't want to be with anyone else except the people who accept who you are.

Pornstarempire.com: What's the last film that you have done?

Keri: ...I just did one called The Deep End, but that's not hardcore. ...I'm doing one today for instance called Hollywood--oh my God, okay, this is a series I am doing for Playboy TV and they had just changed the name of it and it was called Girl Talk which is a spoof of Sex and the City and we do twelve episodes and shoot two episodes every other month. Naked Hollywood, that's what it is. It's an Adam & Eve Production for the hardcore, but the softcore production is on Playboy TV.

Pornstarempire.com: Do you want to say anything about your future plans, are you in for the long haul, do you plan to produce or direct...?

Keri: I don't have any plans to direct or produce. It's a little too much for me. I had an opportunity to do that with Jill Kelly Productions on an exclusive contract. I ended up thinking and decided not to. That is not necessarily my future plans. I don't know that I have an ultimate goal other than longevity in this business. I don't want to be out of it tomorrow. I love what I do and I love the people I am around. As far as what I am going to do three years from now, I have never been one to make those kinds of plans. I take it a day at a time and see what it brings me, because there is so much change in this industry and so many opportunities, that if I had a tunnel vision of a certain goal, I may pass by other opportunities that I could have had if I were open minded to anything around me.

Pornstarempire.com: What do you fantasize sexually on-screen that you haven't done yet?

Keri: Well, I look forward of the fact that I will be doing my first bisexual movie at the end of this month for Tina Tyler--it's her directing debut. She asked me about two weeks ago to be her lead. ...I get to do a girl-boy-boy, meaning, instead of a boy-girl-boy, it is a girl-boy-boy in the sense that I get to put a strap-on and fuck a guy in the ass. That opportunity has never came up in my life and I thought about that her giving me that opportunity and I'm not going to turn it down. Keri: Yeah, I don't know why--maybe because it's the industry is too hush-hush about it and it doesn't give people the opportunity to know much about it. But I'm a quite open person and I have very little to hide. I mean obviously, I am giving my whole body to the whole world and I don't like to lie and keep secrets, because its to hard to keep track of when you are supposed to say something and when you're not so, I prefer to say how it is.

Pornstarempire.com: How old is your son, do you wan to tell me that?

Keri: Sure, he is seven.

Pornstarempire.com: What does your son know about your job--just that mommy gets dressed up?

Keri: The frustrating part is when my son always says, "Mom, you always work in the daytime," and when I go to work at night, he says "Mommy, you just worked in the sunny, how come you have to work in the night?" ...My irregular work hours, that is a really frustrating part...and I get upset with myself. As far as what he knows of what I do for a living, he says, "Mommy goes to work and I'm not allowed to go too," that is what he says. ...Or "Mommy is on the 'Bunny Channel'." He used to say that when he was five or six. He would see me on the Bunny Channel, because we have Direct TV and where my husband thought he locked it off--in fact he locked it, but didn't hit the button to store the lock. So...his friends were over and Mark had walked in with the Playboy Channel on.

Keri: Actually, I was a guest on Night Calls, so no; I wasn't naked, thank God....

Pornstarempire.com: When do you think it would be a good time to explain all this?

Keri: ...I have never been a mother before...to know when. I guess you'll just have to figure that out when the time comes, because right now...I don't feel he has to know what I do. Nor do I have to bother him [with it]. I imagined when I was 13; if my parents would tell me this at 13 would I've been able to handle it. That is the type of comparison I try to do, but...how I grew up it was much differently then how my son is growing up and you know the age and the time and the fact that I grew up overseas.... I don't know, I guess the time will tell when it comes. I'm presuming not for many, many years.

Porntarempire.com: Do you think you will feel pressure to quit when he is a certain age?

Keri: I don't think so, because I don't think I am doing anything to hurt him directly. I am raising him the way I feel how it should be done and now you do what makes you feel happy and as long as it isn't hurting anyone else physically. ...I'm hoping that my son being around me is going to be raised with similar thoughts that I have in the sense...that sex is not a bad thing and you know it's just healthy.

Keri: If it happens then it happens, but I don't have plans.

Keri: After.

Pornstarempire.com: You sort of already answered this, about sex being healthy, but being a porn star is a unique job that affords you a different perspective on life or society so what insight has porn given you or...taught you that you would pass onto your child or something about porn that makes you a better mother?

Keri: What porn has done for me--which I maybe had a little before I got involved--obviously is the openness and the ability to welcome new ideas into your life, sex or not sex. The fact that my parents know that I am bisexual has allowed me to have a somewhat different relationship with my parents. I mean I now got my father talking to me about his Dom and Sub Club that he belongs to out in Riverside. I mean, he talks to me about things...and it's my father and some people may look at that and say, "Oh, that is gross," or "really weird," but my father is my best friend and we talk--whether it be about a book or a movie or about sex, and sex has no more weight then any other subject. It doesn't have anything disgusting about it or ha, ha, ha, about it either, but it shouldn't be any different then any other topic. But what porn...[taught me] is that, it is extremely healthy to know your body and to know what makes you feel good, and it's ok and people around you accepting it. Because it's a domino effect. When you've got somebody around you that is accepting of themselves and their sexuality and next thing you know, you're coming out with what you think about when you masturbate and you're doing it, because you see people doing it around you and it's so accepting and you know that there is not going to be any repercussions for you coming true to yourself...and it's all the sudden contagious...[then] you've got this room full of people saying, "It's okay to do this, it's okay to do that." I love that feeling of acceptance.... And you take that acceptance and put it with other parts of your life. Like now, I don't judge people for nothing and I don't put people in a position to where they have to answer to me and explain to me. In everyday life, like my son's school for instance...I am fairly young looking mother...and most of the mothers...are all in their mid 30s and not only am I 27, I tend to look even younger, unless I try to make myself look older and I walked into a room on parent-teacher conference day, especially with my husband that is 12 years older than me and if looks could kill, I would be dead. I feel that overwhelming power of women wanting to either question me or they see me being young and Mark being so old, that there is something weird with our relationship. I acknowledge that immediately with these women and I try to be nice and say, "Hello, how are you?" and show interest in them and their son and next thing you know, I've got all these women being my friends.

Keri: ...I have major neighbor problems. When I left my husband I had left that house that we had lived in recently. Last year, my neighbors were very, very unaccepting of what I did and caused a lot of problems with us and called the cops on us. If I would let the dog out, they would call animal control, they would call me a whore.... They would call Child Civil Services and try to say my child is in jeopardy and CCS came over and cleared us of anything--you would never know that we were involved in porn, because my house isn't plastered in porn or anything. But major, major problems with my neighbors.
