The company is the brainchild of the man who lends it his name. Like many directors, Jules Jordan started out with Evil Angel.Between 2001 and 2006, he directed some of the most popular movies under the Evil Angel banner, including the initial installments of series like Ass Worship, Feeding Frenzy, and Flesh Hunter (Most of those series now continue under the Jules Jordan Video label.) After five successful years collaborating with John Stagliano and Evil Angel, Jordan decided the time was ripe to start his own company. Before long, his studio was producing some of the most-watched porn movies of the decade, including Jenna Haze Dark Side and Weapons of Ass Destruction. Jordan himself still regularly appears in JJV movies, but his studio is far from a simple expression of his own preferences alone. Like Evil Angel, Jules Jordan Video has developed into a go-to spot for directors who want to express a particular hardcore vision. Stars-turned-directors like Manuel Ferrara, Kayden Kross, and Prince Yahshua have all crafted bestsellers as part of the Jules Jordan Video family.

In recent years, Jules Jordan has also become the DVD distributor of numerous other popular brands.
