Interview with Bridgette Kerkove - December 21, 2000
Phone Interview
Pornstarempire.com: How did you get your start in the industry?
Bridgette: About a year and a half, two years ago, my husband said, "We've gotta be
able to make some money off of our nasty sex that we're doing at home."
And we ran into to Mark Speigler and he got me connected with Metro.
Q: Your husband had nothing to do with it beforehand, you got started at the same time?
Bridgette: Yes.
Q: So you're already married, you're having hot sex, thinking, "Gee, we need some money-let's do it on camera?"
Bridgette: No, we actually didn't need the money. We did it for fun.
Q: That seems like a wild jump. Why do you think you did it? Just to share...[your wild sex] with the world?
Bridgette: We did it for an experiment. Cause I'd only been with him. We weren't swingers, but we were kind of interested in that. We were kind
of fearful of-well you can't just go meet strangers, you don't know what they have. And Mark was explaining how safe and secure the industry was
because of the mandatory PCR/DNA [testing].... Of course, I'm really nervous my first time...but at the same time, I'm very sexual, and I wanted to have fun with this....
So we just thought, we'll just keep doing this as long as they keep calling us. And they kept calling and calling.
Q: How old were you?
Bridgette: I was 21. It was just January '99.
Q: Before this, you were just a housewife and a mother? So you didn't have many jobs before this?
Bridgette: No.
Q: How did you find this guy at Metro?
Bridgette: We literally ran into him in a restaurant in the Valley. He's such a happy, friendly guy-...[Skeeter] just like walked up to him and they've been like best friends ever since.
Q: So you're still living in Southern California-is your family around?
Bridgette: Yes. They didn't know for almost all of '99. But they found out after the awards. Actually my mother was the most understanding of like anybody in my family. Because, you know,
Catholic, very strict, and they're like freaking out: "Oh my God!" I just basically told them, "Look. This is what I'm doing. Either you love me or you don't."
Q: Do you think it's a little more acceptable because you're married-oh, but you're still having sex with other guys-
Bridgette: Yeah, that's the biggest thing my sister's basically yelling at me for..."How could you do this, you're married." He's the one who got me into it!
Q: So your background was conservative, your family is shocked--how did they find out?
Bridgette: Supposedly, my sister's husband was watching like the Spice channel or something. I was like, what are you doing watching it, if it's so bad?
Q: So your sister told everyone?
Bridgette: Yes.
Q: What's the age difference there?
Bridgette: She's 31. I'm 23.
Q: Do you think there's something in your background like the Catholicism or repression that set you up to do this?
Bridgette: ...I'd always been very sexual and it was just my husband that was just beyond heightening plateaus and things that I never even thought of like anal sex and ...In the heat of the moment, it's like losing
your virginity. You're so excited about the experiment. I mean I started off with my own pinky-that's a big difference, you don't start off with a big penis. ...But then you get turned on and you want something bigger. It makes you just come so much.
He just like, totally opened me up to all this totally different sexuality. Granted, he is 12 years older than me, so he's got that whole experience that I didn't.... So I'm a housewife, he's a contractor, we've got commercial buildings ....we have tenants
and our pool business. So doing porn is just totally extra. We've done over 400 scenes, so you can do the math on that. It's nice extra change. ...Now we can really pamper ourselves, pamper our kids.
Q: You were in high school and he was a contractor and you just ran into him?
Bridgette: Yeah. I met him in the "Do It Center". It's like a lumber store. I was going there, buying flowers and he was buying supplies.... I'm walking through
the store...and literally, I looked at his face and...it was like seeing a ghost...I stepped back... It was like someone socked me in the chest. ...I was freaked out for a second. [He was] totally my soul
mate in a creepy, creepy sort of sense.... It was like seeing a family member that you'd been so close to come back to life. It was obvious that we'd spent another lifetime together. Very, very earth-shattering. And we've never been apart.
Q: You were eighteen?
Bridgette: No. Not even.
Q: Do you have sex with women? I've only seen you with men.
Bridgette: Yes, I'm actually up for three awards for girl/girl scenes.
Q: Do you prefer to work with men or women?
Bridgette: That's a hard one. Cause I really love being with the women.
Q: Were you bisexual before you started doing porn?
Bridgette: No, I hadn't been. ...I'd never actually done it. But I had thoughts.
Q: So do you think you'd look more forward to shooting a scene with a woman or with a man?
Bridgette: Different days. Different people. Some days I'll have more of a desire to be with a. guy and then...[vice versa].
Q: So you are pretty bisexual?
Bridgette: Oh, very.
Q: What is your favorite part of having sex onscreen?
Bridgette: Coming. That's what I go there for....
Q: What do you feel is your biggest asset onscreen?
Bridgette: Oh, gosh.... I believe people keep watching because I'm genuinely into it. ...When you see me coming onscreen, I know you can tell. You can't just fake something like that....
Q: What are your relationships like with the other girls on the set?
Bridgette: As far as like, talking to them, it's like being in high school again. But at the same time, most girls I don't identify with [in that] they don't have kids. They don't have a four-bedroom four-bathroom
mortgage payment to pay...they don't have three kids....
Q: What are your thoughts about when...[your kids] grow up? You have become pretty widely known in porn, so how are you going to approach things once they're old enough to understand?
Bridgette: Total honesty. ...They don't know, but when they do know, they'll be understanding of it. We're such a loving, hugging family--we accept everybody for what they want to do. I don't push my daughter
into ballet instead of soccer. We support them and love them. So when you give them that.... I don't think they could possibly judge us. I couldn't see it happening.
Q: Did it take a while to figure out who was cool in the industry? Did you go through a lot?
Bridgette: Actually, it was pretty quick. In just one month you're on like 30 sets... Every day we're still learning, but after two months, you really start to know everybody....
Q: Would you say it's rough?
Bridgette: No, I would say it's pretty-one of the most enticing parts of the business is that everyone's so friendly. How could you not become comfortable?
The business is wonderful to you. As long as you are on time, you never are canceling, give them the respect, be polite to them-you're gonna go far. There's no reason for you not to....
Q: Do you have any problem watching yourself on film?
Bridgette: Sometimes I feel like a need to, maybe not make that face. Sometimes I'm like, "Oh, maybe that's not that attractive."
...Sometimes it's just like watching someone else. ...To me it brings up good memories, like, I can't wait to see that person again.
Q: So you don't go through any jealousy with your husband?
Bridgette: No. He is the one that totally pushed me and made me feel comfortable: "Have fun with this because it is such a turn-on."
Q: What turns him on about it?
Bridgette: I don't know, he just loves it.
Q: And you never felt insulted or threatened by the fact that he wanted that?
Bridgette: No, no, no. You can't feel insulted that your husband's completely supportive of you, no, definitely not. We're best friends....
Q: Do you ever get sick of sex?
Bridgette: No. The day I do is the day I stop.
Q: Why don't you tell me a little about shooting "DreamQuest", since that turned out to be such an important film.
Bridgette: It was rather cold. And it was a really long shoot.
Q: Where was the shoot?
Bridgette: Lake Elsinore. It was 39 degrees outside and we started shooting at five thirty in the morning.
Q: I'm watching you right now. You're with that guy in the mask.
Bridgette: I never saw it. You're the first person to tell me what it's like!
Q: You've got the super-long hair and you're...[going down on] the guy with the mask-
Bridgette: Yeah, he's the devil.
Q: Was that cool?
Bridgette: Yeah, that was Herschel Savage, so I've worked with him many, many times before.
Q: I love him.
Bridgette: Yeah. So when you've worked with someone like that before, it's not like-you know what he looks like, so
you just take that away. I mean, normally I don't have my makeup like that-I don't look like that either.
Q: You should check it out. His makeup looks great.
Bridgette: Yeah, they had like a special effects makeup artist coming in and everything.
Q: This was obviously before you had your boobs done. I was going to ask you why you went so big with your implants.
Bridgette: I wanted that sexy, big-when I was pregnant, I had like, huge tits. I wanted that back.
Q: I think you got it. What size are you now?
Bridgette: I'm a 34" DD.
Q: And before you were like an A, right?
Bridgette: Yeah.
Q: What was "Stuffed", for Matt Zane, like to shoot?
Bridgette: That was a lot of fun. Oh my God. Have you seen it? Is that not good?!
Q: It's pretty wild! I don't see how you can physically handle all that.
Bridgette: It's not even a big deal. It's like doing the splits, that's what I tell everybody.
Q: What?!
Bridgette: Your asshole is like a muscle. There's nothing more to it. ...When you're slowly, slowly stretching over time,
you can do so much more and it goes right back.
Q: It wasn't painful?
Bridgette: Oh, God, no. It's like a turn-on.
Q: What all did you put in there?
Bridgette: Oh, a bunch of toys.
Q: You had like that red thing and then the guy's dick and then that black toy in your butt?
Bridgette: Yeah. My fingers, and toys and his dick. Well, it's called "Stuffed".
Q: Would you rather do something [outrageous] like that, or would you rather do a feature?
Bridgette: I love doing both....
Q: Tell me about the chopsticks stunt, cause I don't know about that.
Bridgette: The chopsticks scene is nominated for Most Outrageous Scene. It's for Leisure Time. It's called "Pussy and Ass Stretching".
Q: How many? You put them in your pussy?
Bridgette: No, my ass. ...103 chopsticks. He started off with say, 60? And then he just kept adding to it.
Q: How did it feel?
Bridgette: Good. Like he was building this big old dildo out of chopsticks. Slowly stretching me, so it was a turn-on. And this went on for like
five and a half hours. We were just crazy with each other. Double-anal, triple-anal, he was like, fisting my pussy. I'm squirting all over. It's just a nasty, good scene.
Q: I know you do things that people might consider sort of extra-on-the-deviant-side. Why are you drawn to the ultra-hardcore stuff?
Bridgette: I think just like, continuously opening up your mind...to do what no one's ever done.
Q: So it's not a gimmick--you just like it?
Bridgette: I like it because I like it. Not for other people. I mean, I hope they like it.... I just feel like I'm
having the safest sex possible and getting paid for it, I mean, what could be better than that? ...I do what I want. If they're like, "Oh, we can't
have that fisting", we're like, "Fine, edit it out, then."
Q: Anything else you wanna say about anal sex?
Bridgette: If you love it, do it. If you are curious about it, start slowly. And you have like the best orgasms.
Q: What do think you'd like to try that you haven't yet?
Bridgette: My husband said, "quadruple anal"! He's just kidding. My mind is always open, and I'm definitely not done sexually.
Q: Tell me about "Bridgette's Hellions", your latest project.
Bridgette: It was so much fun to shoot. It's through Babylon and Jill Kelly Productions. Not only is everybody gorgeous,
it's a great storyline and it's a continuing feature series. We're shooting 12 this year.
Q: So you have a contract with Babylon?
Bridgette: Non-exclusive, yeah. And Jill Kelly. Just the utmost nastiest, sensualist scenes.
Q: What was your favorite shoot, ever?
Bridgette: "Bridgette's Hellions".
Q: Who are your favorite performers to work with?
Bridgette: I'll give you a list. Just if someone gets their feelings hurt or whatever [sic]. As far as guys,
I love Lee Stone, Evan Stone, Dale DaBone, Lexington Steele, Erik Everhard, Bobby Vitale. [As for girls], Gwen Summers, Chloe, of course, Kylie Ireland.
I love this new girl named Claudia. ...Amber Michaels.
Q: Is your husband still performing? Is he only performing with you?
Bridgette: He only has ever performed with me.
Q: What's your series called?
Bridgette: "Bridgette's Hellions".
Q: Do you both direct?
Bridgette: Yes, right now him, under Michael Zen, and then he will take over. And Jill Kelly will direct...in January, a gonzo series, as well as other
companies that we have just lined up this week, that we are solely owning several projects but, I'm not going to tell you about them yet. So that will be nice to
actually be able to direct produce and own and see a return on our product. It's very, very exciting.
Q: What would you say is your biggest indulgence?
Bridgette: The biggest way that we have spoiled ourselves was paying for the Jaguar in cash. [It's a] 2000.
Q: How nice.
Bridgette: And then buying last year our four-bedroom four-bathroom house....
Q: Do you want to say anything about your nominations this year?
Bridgette: Oh, gosh-I was like almost like shaking to think I had that many nominations, I was like, "Wow", because they're recognizing you. It's just an awe feeling.
Q: So which ones are you most excited about?
Bridgette: All of them. "Performer of the Year" and "Most Outrageous Sex Scene" with my husband. He's my best friend. I mean, he's my everything.
