Linda Lovelace's Porn Star Biography
Linda Lovelace is one of the most famous as well as one of the most controversial adult film stars of all time. She is the star of the equally famous and controversial 1972 film Deep Throat, a movie that helped usher in the era of porno chic as we all as spur a number of obscenity prosecutions. The title itself became synonymous with one of America's biggest political scandals.
Career
Linda Lovelace was born the daughter of a NY police officer and attended Catholic School where she was known as "Miss Holy Holy" for keeping her dates at a distance. After graduating, she decided to attend computer school and became involved with a man named Chuck Traynor. It was Traynor who convinced her to begin performing in 8mm loops in 1971. In 1972, she landed her role in Deep Throat. For all of her notoriety, she only performed in a handful of movies, most notably the R-rated sequel Deep Throat II and the 1976 film Linda Lovelace for President, neither of which had a lot of sex in them. She wrote a couple of biographies in 1974 and posed for Playboy, Bachelor and Esquire Magazine. Other notable films for Lovelace include Confessions of Linda Lovelace (Arrow Productions), Lovelace Meets Miss Jones (AVC), and Underground Tonight Show (Roy Karch Productions).
Lovelace Related Projects
Linda Lovelace was the focus of a biopic movie titled Lovelace starring Amanda Seyfried in the title role. Fitting to her legacy, the film itself has become controversial as the producers are being sued by Arrow Productions, owners of Deep Throat, for copyright infringement and for disparaging remarks made by the actors about the treatment of Lovelace during the filming of Deep Throat.
